About Allanton Inn
A relaxed, welcoming and tranquil country coaching inn, in private ownership, dating from the eighteenth century and now updated to provide every modern comfort and affording meticulous service.
The Inn, which is decorated with antique furniture and has open log fires, has secluded gardens and is set amidst open borders countryside. The rivers Blackadder and Whiteadder are a few minutes walk from our front door both flowing into the Tweed.
This is a central location for exploring the fabulous Berwickshire and Northumbrian coastline, and is close to the ancient towns of Berwick and Kelso. Nearby are Wedderburn Castle, Duns Castle, Paxton House, Manderston, Mellerstain House and Floors Castle. Numerous splendid golf courses are within a short drive. Salmon and trout fishing is available just a short walk from the inn, shooting is also available in the immediate vicinity. Fishing and shooting parties are catered for. Kelso Racecourse is only 25 minutes drive away.

Rooms
There are five characterful and individually decorated bedrooms, all recently refurbished to a high standard, with ensuite facilities, colour television, radio alarm clock and tea and coffee making facilities. Our rooms are non-smoking, but smoking is permitted in the bar downstairs.

Dining
Restaurant Open Wednesday Lunch - Sunday Lunch.
Open Sunday evening, and Monday and Tuesday evenings for residents only.
There are two charming restaurants and a tearoom producing homemade, honest, wholesome food from locally produced vegetables, fish and meats on a daily changing menu.
We have an exceptional wine list and a cosy bar serving a selection of real ales. You can eat next to the open log fire in the non-smoking dining room.
